A few changes to the playing XI are expected now that Team India are playing their matches in the Caribbean. The pitches here are slow and aid the spinners. Kuldeep Yadav should be included in the Xi if not both him and Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal too can be considered in place of Ravindra Jadeja who had not had runs with the bat in T20Is.

Rohit will continue to lead the team and open the batting. He has yet to score a fifty in the tournament. Against the USA, he was dismissed by Saurabh Netravalkar who worked the left-arm angle in his favor.

Virat Kohli

Kohli will open the batting with Rohit Sharma. He was out for a first-ball duck against the USA as he was dismissed by Netravalkar too. Interestingly, his only T20I ton is against Afghanistan.

Rishabh Pant (WK)

Pant will slot in at three. He scored 18 off 20 balls against the USA. He has been amongst the runs in this World Cup for India and has kept Sanju Samson out of the playing XI.

Suryakumar Yadav

SKY will slot in at four. He finally scored an unbeaten 50 and guided India in the chase against the USA. He must keep his good form going for India.

Hardik Pandya

Pandya can slot in at five. With Kuldeep Yadav likely to be included in the XI, Shivam Dube might have to make way for him. Hardik has been good with the ball taking seven wickets so far in the World Cup.

Ravindra Jadeja / Yuzvenndra Chahal

Jadeja might slot in at six. He has been economical with the ball but has not scored too many runs with the bat. Yuzvendra Chahal might get a look in against Afghanistan with how the pitches in the Caribbean are.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel has been doing justice to his spot in the XI. He got runs on tricky pitches in New York and took crucial wickets as well.

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah will lead the pace attack. He has taken five wickets in the tournament so far. He bowled a brilliant spell against Pakistan to win India the game.

Mohammed Siraj

Siraj too has been impressive. He has bowled in good channels and has been a good backup for the likes of Byumrah and Arshdeep Singh. He has a chance to impress against Afghanistan.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav should come into the XI as the specialist spinner in place of Shivam Dube. Now that India will play all their games in the Caribbean, they need a specialist spinner, and no better than Kuldeep at the moment.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep will conclude the likely Indian playing XI. He has taken seven wickets in the World Cup so far joint-most with Hardik Pandya.

Afghanistan takes on India in their first Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup in Barbados on Thursday, June 20. They will take on Australia and Bangladesh in their next two Heading into this game, they lost their final group game against the West Indies.

Afghanistan has been the giant killer in this tournament along with the USA. These two teams have knocked out two of the tournament favorites in New Zealand and Pakistan.

Afghanistan's stocks as a white-ball side have risen since the last World Cup. They defeated the likes of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Netherlands in the World Cup and have shocked everyone by beating the Kiwis in their very first T20I against them.

The side is no longer dependent on their spinners but has good pacers and good batters as well. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-Ul-Haq are the two good pacers alongside the veterans Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi. In Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, they have two good openers who score runs together.

They are playing with their best playing combination in all the games and they would like to stick to them and topple India if they can. They have played 8 T20Is against India losing seven of them. They have a chance to change the script.

Zadran has been the perfect foil to Gurbaz who scores his runs rather quickly. This is a solid opening partnership that gives the team good starts repeatedly.

Azmatullah Omarzai

Omarzai can slot in at three. The all-rounder has decent batting and bowling skills and gets the ball to swing early as well. He scored 13 off 18 against Uganda.

Gulbadin Naib

Baib can bat at four. He is a good all-rounder and can hit the ball long and bowl some decent overs with the ball. He scored an unbeaten 49 in the chase against PNG.

Mohammad Nabi

Nabi can slot in at five. He is an experienced campaigner and hence can bat at any number. He is economical with the ball as well and can vary his pace brilliantly.

Najibullah Zadran

Zadran can slot in at six. He has batted from three to number seven or eight in the order. The southpaw is another experienced batter in the XI.

Rashid Khan (C)

Rashid can bat at seven. He has plenty of ability with the bat and is a master of his art with the ball. He has taken six wickets, the second most for Afghanistan this World Cup.

Karim Janat

Janat is another seam-bowling all-rounder. He lends depth to the batting lineup and can bowl with decent pace as well. He is eight short of 50 T20I wickets.

Naveen-ul-Haq

Naveen-Ul-Haq is one of the two pacers in the playing XI. He should have a match-up against Virat Kohli given their recent history in IPL and international cricket.

Fazalhaq Farooqi

Farooqi the left-arm pacer will lead the pace attack. He has taken 12 wickets in the tournament so far including a fifer. He is one short of 50 T20I wickets.

Noor Ahmad

Noor concludes the likely playing XI for Afghanistan. He is the third spinner in this Afghanistan lineup along with Rashid and Nabi.

Phil Salt and Jonny Bairstow played a crucial role in helping England to a comfortable eight-wicket win over the co-hosts. The England team successfully chased down an 181-run target with 15 balls to spare. Salt scored an unbeaten 87 runs off 47 balls with the help of seven boundaries and five maximums.

Salt was named "Player of the Match" for his brilliant batting performance. Jonny Bairstow scored 48 off 26 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes. Salt and Bairstow added an unbeaten 97-run partnership off 44 balls for the third wicket. England moved to the top of the Group 1 table in the Super 8 stage.

We Could Have Given A Better Disaply With The Ball - Rovman Powell

West Indies captain Rovman Powell acknowledged that his team fell short by 15-20 runs in their batting performance and admitted their bowling could have been better. Powell stated that England's bowlers executed their plans effectively in the last five overs.

"When you look from the batting perspective, we were 15-20 runs short. We could have given a better display with the ball as a bowling group. We couldn't capitalise in the last five overs but credit to the English bowlers, they executed their plans very well. (On Brandon King's injury)"

"Just a bit worried, but hopefully he can pull through for the next game. It's always difficult, every time he plays against WI, he hurts us. We couldn't execute our plans against Phil. Our destiny is in our own hands and we need to win well, we need to continue playing good cricket," Powell said.
