Delhi Capitals will be eyeing a much-needed win tonight when they take on Gujarat Titans in the 32nd game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The national capital-based outfit's campaign has not hit the top gear so far. As a result, the team is currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with just two wins from six games. The first instance took place on March 28 when Rajasthan Royals locked horns against Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The second one took place on April 1 when Rajasthan Royals played against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

In Jaipur, the ACU officials caught two individuals and handed them to the local box. In Mumbai too, the officials handed over the individuals to the police. While an FIR was lodged against both individuals in Jaipur, the case in Mumbai ended up being a possible case of mistaken identity.

According to a report in The Hindu, the Marine Drive Police officials did not find anything untoward on the individuals' electronic devices.

Ishant Sharma bowled a length delivery just outside the off stump and Sai Sudharsan clipped it towards mid-wicket.

It was Sai Sudharsan's call and he decided to go for a quick run. However, before he could reach the crease safely, Sumit Kumar hit the bullseye with a brilliant effort. The DC allrounder rushed towards the ball and made an underarm throw to catch the GT batter short. Sai Sudharsan made a desperate dive but was well short.

Talking about the game, GT is in a precarious position and needs a remarkable effort from their lower-order batters to post a good total. At the time of writing this report, they were reeling on 43 for 4 in the eighth over with Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Tewatia batting in the middle.

Before Saha's dismissal, GT captain Shubman Gill was dismissed by Ishant Sharma for eight.

And while GT would have hoped that the veteran batsman would bail them out of trouble once again, he failed to do it against DC. He lasted just six balls and managed to score two runs before a sharp catch from Rishabh Pant ended his stay at the crease.

On the final ball of the fifth over, Ishant Sharma bowled a short of good length delivery that was angled in. While the GT star wanted to play the ball towards the on side, he was completely opened up and failed to make good contact with the ball.

The ball flew towards the right of Rishabh Pant who made a full-stretch dive to take a stunning catch. The umpire did not give his decision in DC's favor but had to overturn it after Rishabh Pant opted for the DRS.

Delhi Capitals (DC), on Wednesday (April 17), thrashed Gujarat Titans by six wickets to register their third win in IPL 2024. After bowling out GT for just 89 runs, DC chased down the total in the ninth over at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Jake Fraser-McGurk gave DC a fast start by scoring 20 runs with the help of two fours and as many sixes. He was dismissed by Spencer Johnson in the second over before Sandeep Warrier dismissed Prithvi Shaw for six in the third over to reduce DC to 31 for 2.

A 34-run stand between Abishek Porel and Shai Hope all but sealed the game for DC. The duo departed in quick succession before captain Rishabh Pant and Sumit Kumar shared an unbeaten stand of 25 runs to take DC home.

Earlier in the game, DC bowlers totally justified their captain's decision of bowling first by bowling out GT for just 89 runs. GT's innings never really took off as they were bowled out for less than 100 runs for the very first time in the IPL.

Ishant Sharma gave DC the first breakthrough in the second over by dismissing GT captain Shubman Gill for 8 runs. Wriddhiman Saha could not do much with the bat either and was out for only 2. GT lost the wickets of Sai Sudharsan (12) and David Miller (2) inside the powerplay as well to find themselves reeling at 30 for 4 in the fifth over.

Abhinav Manohar and Rahul Tewatia shared a 17-run stand before the former and Shahrukh Khan departed on successive deliveries to leave their team on 48 for 6. A 31-run knock from Rashid Khan gave some respectability to the total.

He was one of the only three GT players who managed to reach double-digits and was the only player to score more than 12 runs in the innings. The other players to reach double-digits were Sudharsan (12) and Tewatia (10). For DC, Mukesh Kumar picked up three wickets while Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs claimed two wickets apiece.
