Zee TV’s upcoming shows – Meet and Riston Ka Manjha to make viewers look at life through a fresh lens

Zee TV is all set to introduce two inspiring narratives that are bound to make viewers look at life from a fresh perspective. While Rishton ka Manjha, produced by Tent Cinema, will instill a fresh burst of positivity via its optimistic lead protagonist with a ‘never say die’ attitude – Diya, the next show Meet, produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions, is all set to raise pertinent questions about the roles set aside for the sexes in every Indian household and build a strong case against gender discrimination. The two shows are set to premiere on 23rd August and are slated to air every Monday to Saturday, at 7 pm and 7.30 pm respectively.

Stirring optimism amongst viewers, Rishton Ka Manjha will explore the intense love story of Diya and Arjun who, despite being players of the same sport, share very contrasting outlooks towards life. Based in Kolkata, the show revolves around Diya, (played by Aanchal Goswami) – a bright and chirpy middle-class Bengali girl who hopes to build a meaningful life for herself and support her middle-class family. No matter what curveball comes her way, she stays afloat saying “Kuch toh tod nikaal hi lenge”. On the other hand, Arjun, essayed by Krushal Ahuja, is a former Badminton champ who comes from an affluent Marwari business family. He has given up on life after a scandal jeopardizes his career and even his near and dear ones don’t support him through his most testing times! How Diya shines the light of optimism and reinforces Arjun’s belief in her philosophy – “If all isn’t well, it isn’t the end” will form the crux of the show.

At 7:30 PM, Zee TV is all set to introduce viewers to the journey of a spirited young girl from Haryana – Meet who, contrary to popular perception that only a son can be a ghar ka chiraag, is the ghar ‘ki’ chirag for her family. Not only is she the sole breadwinner for her family taking full responsibility for everything around the house, but she also breaks the societal rule books of gender roles by serving as a delivery agent and generally being the ‘fixer’ in any and every situation that a guy is typically expected to be! She’s not a rebel, it’s just that her authentic approach towards life doesn’t include investing undue time and energy in her personal grooming only to fit her family’s ideals of a ‘suitable girl’. Instead, she believes in getting her hands dirty and getting the job done! She often quips in her Haryanvi andaaz, “Jimmedari ko ke pata use nibhane wala chhora hai ke chori”. While television actress Ashi Singh will take on a unique avatar to play the title role of Meet, the handsome heartthrob Shagun Pandey will be seen playing the male lead, who coincidentally is also named Meet in the show.

Thrilled to step into the shoes of an unconventional character, Ashi Singh who will portray the title role of Meet said, “I sincerely believe that Meet, as a show as well as a character, addresses a very pertinent subject for society to dwell upon. Shagun Pandey who will play the lead opposite Meet said, “As a show, Meet is a concept that holds the potential to break archaic patterns of our society when it comes to gendered division of responsibilities. Ecstatic at making her debut as a lead with Rishton Ka Manjha, Aanchal Goswami who will play the role of Diya said, “I am truly privileged to be playing such an important role – Diya is a middle class Bengali girl whose core belief in life is kuch toh tod nikaal hi lenge … Her optimism ensures that she never gives up no matter how insurmountable the problem ahead of her is. The Kapil Sharma Show: Archana Puran Singh asks Sumona Chakravarti about her absence in the show’s promos; she replies ‘stars don’t need promos’

The Kapil Sharma Show is all set to make its comeback on television screen. With its first episode being all ready to premiere in a day, comedy star Kapil Sharma and team will be hosting the cast of Bhuj: The Pride of India and BellBottom during the first weekend.

While the promos and teasers of the same are getting a lot of attention, the mystery behind shows cast Sumona Chakravarti missing from the promos, led to a lot of speculations. On the behalf of the fans of the show, Archana Puran Singh is seen asking Sumona the reason of her being absent from the show’s promos in a recent clip shared by her on her instagram. The first promo was released a month ago in which Sumona was nowhere to be seen. However, the leaked photos from shoot reveal the actor being a part of the show in a new avatar.

Archana Puran Singh is seen walking up to Sumona, greeting her and saying, “Yeh ma’am hai show pe, hum inke begair kabhi show nahi banayenge (Ma’am is very much part of the show. We will never do it without her).” She asks Sumona to tell the fans for not being in the promos, to which she replied that no one will ever get to know that, why she was not in the promo, adding that ‘Stars don’t need promos’. Yesterday, sharing a still from her vanity van, Sumona also shared the video by Sony TV’s official handle on social media promoting The Kapil Sharma show.

The comedy show will air after quite a long break, starting August 21. It will air during weekends at 9:30 pm on SonyTV. Besides the old cast, Archana Puran Singh, Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakravarti, Bharti Singh, Chandan Prabhakar Rochelle Rao and Kiku Sharda, comedians Sudesh Lehri and Gaurav Gera will also be a part of the comeback team.

Tara will also star in Tiger Shroff’s ‘Heropanti 2′. The second insstallment to Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Heropanti’ directed by Ahmed Khan had kickstarted a small schedule in Mumbai in March and the team will soon commence their second schedule in Russia.

The cast will start shooting in Moscow followed by St. Petersburg in Russia next month. Apart from filming some major action sequences, the team will also shoot a song in Russia.

BREAKING: Tiger 3 shoot begins in St Petersburg, Russia; Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif shoot a car chase sequence

9 years ago, Ek Tha Tiger (2012), starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, created a frenzy in cinemas and emerged as one of the most loved films of the superstar. The sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), emerged as a bigger box office hit and made it clear this is surely a franchise that has its huge share of fans. Hence, it was not surprising that the producers of the film, Yash Raj Films (YRF), decided to have a third part of the film as well. Tiger 3 releases in 2022 and is expected to be one of the biggest films, if not the biggest film of Bollywood.

Earlier this year, Tiger 3 went on floors in Mumbai. After shooting some significant portions, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and director Maneesh Sharma have now flown to Russia. A source told us, “Tiger 3’s shoot is currently taking place in the city of St Petersburg. The Russia schedule began with a grand car chase action sequence. The Indian and Russian units seemed very well prepared and also adhered to the Covid-19 safety guidelines. Also, the Russian authorities are providing complete cooperation so that the shoot takes place without any hiccups.”

The source continued, “Despite pandemic restrictions, Aditya Chopra has made it clear that there should be no compromise on the grandeur and scale of the film. The car chase sequence is also being executed keeping in mind Adi’s vision for the film. The film surely would be something to watch out for, especially on the big screen.”

As per reports, after the Russia schedule is over, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and the entire Tiger 3 team will then fly to Turkey and Austria.

One of the biggest USPs of Tiger 3 is that Emraan Hashmi is playing the antagonist. However, according to the source, he is not a part of the Russian schedule. “He’ll join the team at Turkey,” said the source and signed off.

Bell Bottom Day 2 Box Office Estimate: Akshay Kumar starrer fails to show growth over Day 1; collects approx. Rs. 2.40 cr.

Akshay Kumar returned to the big screen after a 18 month break with the action thriller, Bell Bottom. The film opened to a below par response at the box-office with an opening day figure of Rs. 2.75 crore. The film has recorded a 15% drop on the second day, as the early estimates suggest Friday collections in the range of Rs. 2.30 to 2.50 crore, taking the two day total to anywhere between Rs. 5.05 to 5.25 crore. The collections might be marginally higher depending on the figures at single screens, however, a figure higher than opening day [Rs. 2.75 cr.] is unlikely.

Considering an odd day release, the trade and industry was expecting the biz to witness an upward trend on Friday, however, to everyone’s shock, the figures have witnessed a drop and this is not a healthy sign. The drop has come despite a relatively positive talk in the media and positive reviews. The Pooja Entertainment Production released on 1,620 screens across India with nearly 6,481 shows.

It’s a fairly wide release [Daily shows – 6,481, Screens – 1,620, Locations – 1,035. Of the 1,035 locations, 383 are single screens and 652 are multiplexes] for a film that hasn’t opened in Maharashtra. The low collections are attributed to poor release buzz as the exhibitors insist on the audience being unaware about the arrival of Bell Bottom on the big screen. It’s a big miss as a film like Bell Bottom being the first to arrive after the second wave had the golden chance to restart the cycle of box-office, and it’s an opportunity lost. An indication about audiences being ready to venture out to experience a film on the big screen comes from the fact that a Punjabi film, Pauda, has recorded better collections in Punjab than Bell Bottom, despite being in the second week since release.

It isn’t only Covid that’s not bringing the audience to cinema halls, but the lack of visibility and awareness around the film that has tampered the prospects to a great extent. These are still early days and with positive talk in the audience, there lies a chance for Bell Bottom to sustain steadily at lower levels and put up a healthy total in the longer run. A biz upside of 45 crores will result in a respectable number. The fate of the film now depends on jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a Monday equivalent to Thursday. The biggest plus for Bell Bottom lies in the fact that it’s a good film, and hopefully, the word of mouth should translate into footfalls in the longer run. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government has also lifted the lockdown restrictions for Sunday. Cinema halls will now be allowed to operate on Sundays with the last show to be over by 10 pm given the restriction of a night curfew. That should also add to the footfalls and collections on Day 4.

For now, the opening weekend for Bell Bottom seems to be somewhere in the range of Rs. 13 crores.
