Vastu Shastra uses characteristics of all the five elements, directional positioning, magnetic field, and the gravitational effect of the earth and the galaxy at large. Meticulous to a large extent, this ancient scientific approach keeps all the natural factors like wind velocity, sunlight, the effect of ultraviolet rays, and the intensity of rainfall in mind.
