Last year we saw the release of the Indra Kumar directorial Thank God, that featured Sidharth Malhotra, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Nora Fatehi. Well, now we hear that the filmmaker has roped in Sidharth for yet another rom-com.

“Yes, Indra Kumar is planning another rom-com with Sidharth Malhotra”, confirms a well-placed industry source to XDReams. Further adding that the two had discussed the project while working on their previous release, “Indra Kumar had initially approached Sidharth for the new venture while they were still working on Thank God. It was during the last leg of the film’s shoot when the duo had reached a verbal agreement on the venture. Currently, both Kumar and Malhotra have begun talks again for the venture.”

Ask the source for details about the new rom-com being planned and he continues, “The film will feature a big ensemble cast. However, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen playing one of the male leads who has a primary role in the film. Essentially, he will be seen leading the cast of the new project.”

While there has been no official announcement of the same, the source claims that it will be made once Indra Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra have arrived at a decision. As of now on the work front, Sidharth will be seen next in the film Mission Majnu followed by Yodha that will see him sharing screen space with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna.

Avneet Kaur will NOT replace Tunisha Sharma in Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul; former’s mother refutes rumours of her casting

As numerous rumours about the same were floating on the internet, Avneet Kaur’s mother, Sonia Nandra, has finally broken her silence and put an end to the speculation for once and all. According to Avneet Kaur’s mother, she will be not replacing Tunisha Sharma. A report by Times Of India quoted Avneet’s mother saying, “Avneet will not be playing the role of Mariam in the show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. These rumours are not true.”

Several media reports have also claimed that the channel will not bring in anyone in Tunisha's place, instead, they will introduce a new female lead character. Commenting on the same, Kaur’s mother stated, “No, Avneet will not be playing any role in Alibaba, she is not part of the show.” On the other hand, it is also reported that Abhishek Nigam will be replacing Sheezan Khan in the show. However, neither the actor nor the makers have made an official announcement about the same.

Speaking of Tunisha’s suicide case, the 20-year-old actress was reportedly depressed for days prior to her death because of her breakup with co-star Sheezan Khan. The two allegedly broke up just 15 days before the actress ended her life.

Currently, Sheezan is in police custody as the late actress’ mother filed an abetment to suicide complaint against him.

Hearing on the bail plea of Sheezan Khan in the death case of TV actress Tunisha Sharma was held in Vasai Court on Saturday. On January 7, the Mumbai court heard arguments from both sides on Sheezan Khan's bail plea. However, this debate could not be completed. Due to this, the court has fixed the next date on January 9.

Tunisha Sharma Death: Sheezan Khan's bail hearing adjourned till January 9

On December 31, the judicial custody of Sheezan was extended by the court for 14 days, which is till January 13. Sheezan Khan is currently in custody.

Speaking of the hearing, the public prosecutor reportedly opposed Sheezan's bail appeal. He alleged that Sheezan is not cooperating in the investigation and added that he is changing his statement. During the hearing, it was argued that Sheezan had deleted many of his WhatsApp chats, which were recently recovered from his rumoured secret girlfriend's phone.

Tunisha's co-star and rumoured ex-boyfriend Sheezan has been accused of abetting the actress' suicide. Sheezan's lawyer said in court that his client is innocent. Advocate Shailendra Mishra said, “All we want to say is that truth and justice will prevail. We have full faith in the judiciary and I reiterate that Sheejan Mohd Khan is innocent and she and her family are suffering because of police incompetence. He has misused the power of arrest.”

For the unversed, Tunisha was found hanging on the set of her serial Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul near Vasai in the adjoining Palghar district on December 24. Sheezan was taken under custody after Tunisha’s mother accused him of abetting suicide.

Abhay Deol, who is known to voice his opinions on several issues, has spoken about the ongoing controversies surrounding Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan. For the unversed, the film has become a target of several outfits due to the saffron colour swimsuit worn by Deepika Padukone in ‘Besharam Rang’ song. It created an uproar and CBFC has axed certain lyrics and scenes from the song too.

Abhay Deol on Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan controversy ‘If you want to make an issue of something, you can easily do it’

Talking about Pathaan, Abhay Deol told India Today, “It is not something unimaginable. If you look at the world today, it is polarised. If you want to make an issue of something, you can easily do it. It is possible. Many people have done it before and will continue to.”

“We do live in a polarised world. I think social media and technology have made information so fast, and it is also disinformation at so many levels. There is this tendency to reduce things to a headline. There is inconsistency everywhere, whether it be the media or people consuming that media. It is a volatile space, and that is an interesting subject, but do I believe in bans and cancel culture? It is more nuanced than that. I think banning doesn’t necessarily make it go away. It (the subject) goes underground,” he said.

On the work front, Abhay Deol will next star in Netflix project Trial By Fire. Based on the best-seller, “Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy” written by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, the series will stream from January 13, 2022. Directed by Prashant Nair and produced by Endemol Shine India and House of Talkies, the human drama stars Rajshri Deshpande, Abhay Deol, Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla and Shardul Bharadwaj.

Pathaan is set to release in theatres on January 25, 2023.
