Pakistan takes on New Zealand in the second Test in Karachi starting on January 2. The first Test ended in a draw with both teams getting points four each. The PAK vs NZ series will see the teams playing three ODIS after the second Test is over. All three ODI will be played in Karachi on January 9, 11, and 13.
Pakistan are placed seventh on the WTC 2021-23 points table. The Kiwis are placed eighth and both teams have almost no chance of making the final. Babar Azam will be leading Pakistan and Tim Southee will lead the Kiwis in the second Test.

The first Test in Karachi was a run-fest with The hosts scoring 438 in the first innings on the back of Babar Azam‘s 161 and Agha Salman’s 103. The Kiwis responded in style ping up 612/9 on the back of Kane Williamson‘s fifth double ton. Tom Latham scored a defiant 113 opening the batting.
Pakistan declared their second innings on 311/8 asking the Kiwis to chase down 138 runs in the last 14-15 overs of the day’s play. Babar was praised for his brave declaration as he expected to get a result.

The experienced Kiwi side approached the second innings normally and were happy to take a draw. More importantly, they avoided a loss on overseas soil which was an incredible achievement.
The draw now sets up the second test perfectly for both teams. It’s a must-win if either team wants to win the series. It is an important series for the hosts after losing back-to-back Test series against Australia and England in 2022.
