Understanding Reputation on Xdreams

The reputation system within our community serves as a key indicator of a member's standing, reflecting their quality of interactions and contributions on the platform. Although it doesn't provide an absolute measure of trustworthiness, it's a handy tool for gauging a member's reliability and community spirit. Misuse or abuse of the reputation system can compromise its effectiveness and may lead to temporary or permanent account suspension.

Effective Use of Reputation:

  • Expressing Gratitude: If a member posts something helpful or assists you in any way, consider giving them a reputation boost as a thank-you.
  • Showing Support: If a member shares a viewpoint you agree with or appreciate, a positive reputation action can help show your endorsement.
  • Successful Deal Completion: A positive reputation increase is a great way to express your satisfaction after a successful deal or transaction.

Reputation Misuse & Reporting:

  • False Accusations: Using reputation to call someone a scammer or declare them as a multi without linking to an open report or community alert is a misuse of the reputation system.
  • Gang Reputation: Coordinating with other members to raise or lower a members reputation is strictly prohibited.
  • Flaming Reputation: Abusive comments, especially those involving racism or other forms of discrimination, will not be tolerated.
  • Soliciting Reputation: Asking or hinting towards reputation, including spamming reputations is considered misuse.

Consequences of Misuse:

Reputations that don't align with the guidelines outlined above will result in a 3-point warning that lasts for 3 weeks, followed by a ban for continued violations.

Key Guidelines:

  • Significant Interactions Only: Reputation should only be given following significant interactions. Casual or minor interactions shouldn't be the basis for granting reputation.
  • No Reputation Boosting: Don't artificially inflate your own reputation by giving out reputation in hopes of reciprocation. This is against the spirit of the reputation system.
  • Suspected Fraud: If you suspect fraudulent activity, create or link to a community alert thread rather than making unsupported accusations.
  • Multis: If you suspect a member is using multiple accounts, don't make public accusations. Report your suspicions to the staff and let them handle it.
  • Report Misuse: If you observe misuse of the reputation system, promptly report it to the staff.

Misuse or manipulation of the system, such as unjustified negative repping or baseless accusations, detracts from the experience of all members and will be handled accordingly.
